Human Circle – Community Connection & Nervous System Awareness.

A mindful, nervous-system attuned gathering for human’s offering authentic connection, belonging and embodied presence.

You’re invited into an evening of beingness, of witnessing, of recalibration, of insight. A chance to dissolve the mental load, to pause responsibility and allow the authenticity of your spirit and self to be nurtured, seen and heard.

In many ways, this gathering is what you might expect of a circle: gentle invitations to share from the heart, a central mandala containing earth items, oracle cards, candles, reflective music, warm tea and soft blankets to curl up in. A little “woo woo,” a little nurturing, a little relaxing.

Where this circle differs is in its intentional weaving of mindful somatic awareness - the practice of noticing the living body as experienced from the inside out. This inner-awareness helps us connect more deeply to ourselves and to each other. It too supports us in learning and practicing to more effectively regulate our nervous system. We’ll each explore how our own sensations, emotions and thoughts arise and shift, and we’ll be in the seat of sacred witness to our brothers and sisters as they do the same.

It can be rare to find ourselves amongst those giving voice to their inner world with authenticity, self-responsibility and presence. This circle offers an opportunity to cultivate self-love, compassion and acceptance as we practice noticing what is without judgment, within ourselves and within another.

Who this circle is for:

Anyone 17+ that feels drawn to join. No experience whatsoever required - breathing and heart-beating is enough.

This circle is being run in two ways:

  1. WOMEN’S CIRCLE (listing can be found here)

THURSDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 6:30pm - 8:45pm

A space for female-identifying people, acknowledging the unique cycles and sensitivities experienced by women.

2.HUMAN CIRCLE (this listing)

THURSDAY 2ND OCTOBER 6:30pm - 8:45pm

An inclusive space for all genders, recognising that nervous system sensitivity and embodied wisdom are human experiences.

Both circles will be run to the same format. Please select the iteration that your system feels most aligned with and drawn to and be in contact if you could use support arriving at a decision.

Is it ok to join on my own?

Absolutely. The majority of people join in on events at Centre of You on their own, particularly for their first visit. We understand that there can be a felt sense of trepidation and nervousness preceding arriving. This is totally normal. Hearing from those that have attended before may support your nervous system with a roadmap on what to expect. You can do that via our google reviews (with the benefit of seeing pictures of the space) or via written excerpts below:

“After moving interstate by myself in 2021, I was seeking like-minded community and a sense of belonging - I found that within Centre of You (COY). Every time I walk through the doors, I'm greeted with warmth, kindness, and acceptance. They offer so many incredible workshops and events that plant seeds of self-awareness and growth, and I every time I walk away, I feel so nurtured and nourished by not only the people I have met, but within myself. I now feel I have a place to call 'home' away from home, within a community that has become my chosen family. Even when I feel anxious attending an event on my own, I know I will be held.”

“For years, COY has been my happy place. I've attended alone, yet I never feel like I'm by myself there. It's the kind of place where you can go as an introvert or lone soldier and feel like you have lots of friends, returning home happily.”

“The Centre of You is like another home to me. It's warm, safe and welcoming. They hold beautiful, sacred spaces and wonderful events. I've met some of my lifelong friends here, as well as the love of my life, and have found a community I couldn't have imagined existed before. So grateful to have discovered the magic of COY.”

“As a quiet 'prefer to keep to myself introvert who often struggles to leave the house and enter into the busyness of society', I look forward to entering this space and meeting with the people in its walls.”

About your facilitator - Grace Elizabeth @beinggraceelizabeth of @centreofyou_chapelst

Grace Elizabeth is a group facilitator, somatic guide and founder of Centre of You - a multi-modality community centre for inner exploration, where she has hosted monthly conscious speed dating events for almost five years.

Her approach to intimacy and self-trust is deeply informed by her own lived experience. With a background shaped by complex attachment patterns and protective rules that kept her “safe” but closed to connection, Grace knows firsthand the paradox of longing for love while fearing the vulnerability it requires. Through years of self-inquiry, she has come to see that boundaries and authentic pacing are not things another person can uphold for us - they are inner responsibilities that build the foundation for genuine connection.

Grace brings a grounded, compassionate presence to this workshop, creating space for participants to explore their own protective beliefs, body signals and relational patterns. Her facilitation blends personal insight, somatic practice and years of holding space for people navigating the tender terrain of dating and intimacy.

Things to note:

Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothes to enable deep breathing and sitting/laying upon the floor with ease. Something to cover your eyes, if you wish to do so (eg. eye mask, scarf). A journal is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).

Personal responsibility: Please make an assessment on whether you are feeling stable and resourced enough to explore the practices on offer in this event.

No Photo/Video Content Will Be Captured: We recognise that being at an event where content is being captured can impact the personal comfort and nervous system regulation of our community. As such, it should be known upfront that this event is a photo and video free space. No content will be captured. We ask all participants to honor this agreement in respect of the shared experience by placing any recording devices away on arrival.

Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.

Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).

Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).

Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.

Finding Centre of You: Centre of You is nestled within the arcade that Chapel St Bazaar is in (217 Chapel St). It is up a flight of stairs with a wide landing at the half-way-point. Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair accessible lift. If you could use support in getting up the stairs or would like to discuss ways to make your experience at Centre of You more comfortable, please reach out via hello@centreofyou.com.au or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.

Accessibility: At COY we aim to ensure our community and events are inclusive and accessible while alongside upholding the needs and responsibilities of our business and the businesses of our collaborating facilitators. Should you be in a time of financial challenge and unable to pay the full ticket price comfortably, please reach out via hello@centreofyou.com.au or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram

Ticketing T&Cs: We get it, life happens, therefore we will gladly refund you up until 24hrs before the event start time. After that, we have a strict no refund/no transfer to future events policy. If you are no longer able to attend and wish to pay forward your ticket to someone within the community, be in touch via hello@centreofyou.com.au or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.
