Job Title: COY Visual Communications / Creative Marketing Coordinator (exact naming TBC)

I am seeking a creative and proactive human to join our sweet, small team as Visual Communications Specialist / Creative Marketing Coordinator (we’ll get the name right once we’ve met the legend that will fill the role). This hybrid or remote role will focus on creating compelling visual content for events, social media, and marketing materials. You will work closely with me, Centre of You Founder & Director, Grace, to communicate key brand messages through compelling visuals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Event Banner Art: Receive an event listing (word brief) and transform it into visually engaging banner art using tools like Canva. Your designs will capture the essence and emotions of the event experience, aligning with both the facilitator’s brand and COY’s aesthetic.

  • Asset Resizing: Duplicate approved event artwork across various platforms - Instagram grid, Instagram stories, COY website and Facebook.

  • Social Media Co-Management: Co-manage COY’s Instagram & Facebook accounts in collaboration with Founder & Director, Grace. Proactively suggest and plan content ideas, taking initiative to develop engaging posts that align with COY’s brand’s voice and goals. Experience with Meta advertising tools is a win.

  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally with COY’s partnering facilitators via email to gather design requirements, understand their branding desires and ensure final designs meet their expectations.

Possible Role Expansion:

Once you’ve settled into the key responsibilities, you may have the opportunity to expand in the role via:

  • Video Storytelling & Editing: Dive into video production, creating engaging and dynamic content for social media.

  • Product Development & Merchandise Branding: Collaborate on creating custom merchandise designs that align with the business's visual identity.

Required Qualifications:

This role does not require any formal design qualifications. It is best suited to a naturally creative legend that finds joy in digital artistic expression.

Required Skills:

  • Creative Vision: You have a strong ability to turn ideas and concepts into visually compelling content that evokes feeling.

  • Proficiency in Canva (or similar design tools): You know your way around Canva and can comfortably create and adapt design assets across various dimensions.

  • Social Media Savvy: You naturally spend time on social media and therefore keep up-to-date with trends. You have a solid understanding of social media platforms and social media engagement best practice.

  • Basic Video Editing Skills: You are comfortable creating short-form video content directly through social media platforms and/or tools like CapCut.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: You have a patient and professional communication style and are at ease when differences of opinion is fed-back to you. You are able to graciously receive and incorporate feedback and re-align design work when required.

  • Adaptability: You’re able to naturally evolve as COY does and take on new creative tasks as the role grows.

Requirements:

  • You own a laptop with reliable internet access.

  • Your communication skills are strong - you’re prompt and proactive to respond to team communication.

Additional Information:

  • Hours: The role will start at 2-10 hours per week based on business needs, with potential for growth as the business does.

  • Flexible Location: This role can be entirely remote or hybrid (with in-person co-working in Melbourne).

  • Team: You’ll be working alongside Centre of You Founder & Director, Grace, as well as an Centre Operations Assistant, Elissa in a collaborative and supportive environment.

  • Employment Type: This is a contractor position, so the successful applicant will be required to have their own Australian Business Number (ABN) and invoice Centre of You for accrued hours.

  • Remuneration: The role will be remunerated at a rate of $27 per hour.
