Facilitated intentionally by Claire Coleman.
Claire aims to bring yoga to "Move the Mind" by encouraging some mellow movement that enhances this week's theme of self-acceptance, followed by some supported hip openers and ending on a guided body relaxation throughout savasana.
Claire began casually dipping into the odd yoga class many years ago, though really fell in love with it when she realised it was for "real people" too, after her teacher swore in class one day, "Let that sh*t go". Over time noticing the positive impact it had on her mental health she dipped her toe in the yogi pool by doing her Yin teacher training at Byron Yoga Centre. Realising from here that her connection with yogic practice was one that went beyond helping her get into a better mood but something that REALLY enabled her to "Let that sh*t" go by transforming her mindset she decided to take herself back to Byron to complete her Yoga Teacher Training.
As a Mental Health Nurse, Claire has devoted her work to her passion since qualifying 13 years ago- empowering people to nourish their mental health. She has begun to combine her skills in mental health and yoga by completing the Yoga for Mental Health course with Maria Kirsten, and now studying Yoga and the Mind with Karina Guthrie. Overall she hopes to share her expertise and tools with the knowledge that by creating even the tiniest shift in perspective, a healthier mindset can be created. She has been recently working with an online group in London, delivering well-being and yoga classes, as well as, teaching yoga as part of a Young Adults Emotional Management Program at her workplace.
